TaoTronics TT-BH22 Noise Cancelling Headphone
The ANC (Active Noise Canceling) headphone market is dominated by brands such as Sony, Bose & AKG. The quality is premium, as well as the prices, are high, but with TaoTronics TT-BH-22 being under 100 made, most people wonder how it could cut it too low and meet the price point. One who is looking for noise-canceling headphones on the budget can’t go without TaoTronics TT-BH22.
At first look, the design looks similar to those of Bose headphones, but still, it has many differences. To maintain the price line, the manufacturing of TaoTronics is mediocre. Its made of light plastic, which doesn’t push it too hard on your skull and leather is used to protect headband and earcups, which makes it enjoyable for those with big heads. The earpads aren’t as premium as of Bose but are very close to it; meanwhile, they are very comfortable, which was terrific keeping the cost in mind. It supplies carry case as a bonus as well as the audio cable of 3.5mm if you prefer wired version or when the battery dies. On the right earcup, you’ll find buttons for pairing, pause, play, power, playback as well as charging port. It has a foldable design with built-in mic and reliable connectivity.
TaoTronics TT-BH22 won’t disappoint you when it comes to sound quality, but it still depends on how you are using them. The quality varies depending on whether you’re using as wired, direct Bluetooth, or with enabled noise cancelling. The performance is better if you are using cabled or ANC modes; with just direct Bluetooth, it might concern some users. The headphones perform well in terms of cutting ambient sounds such as train, traffic, fans, and other with medium frequencies. TaoTronics perform well with active noise cancelling, but when you turn it off, you might notice a drop in audio quality, which is usually normal. For Bluetooth, it uses version 4.2, and you can connect multiple devices. It performs quite good not as much as premium headsets, but in the price range, you’ll be more than happy with its abilities.
TaoTronics claims the headphones are capable of handling it for up to 25 hours in Bluetooth mode. It’s fair enough time as you can go through a couple of workdays or during long flights. Still, you should be expecting the average battery time around 20 hours. Moreover, the ANC and Bluetooth function differently, so if you don’t turn ANC off, it’ll still consume batter, so you should be careful about that as well. You can’t use headphones while charging, but if the battery dies, you can switch to wire mode easily.
|Drivers:||40mm, Large-aperture x2|

COWIN E7 Pro Noise Cancelling Headphone
If you are not much of a critical listener and prefer isolation Cowin E7 Pro is the best choice for you. There’s another regular model of Cowin E7 available as well, but if you want some extra perks in your price range, Cowin E7 Pro would be the best with better sound quality and extra battery life. It also has a premium look with excellent finishes. The headphone comes in a durable bulged casing.
In terms of regular design E7 and E7 Pro, both are almost similar, but E7 Pro has a better finish and comfy earcups. The earcups have a metallic finish with a ribbed design which gives it a premium look. It comes in three colors black, white and red. Black has been the best in terms of design and looks meanwhile white has a resemblance to grey as well as red has an extra finish in terms of visual which either you’ll love or hate. A stereo cable with the finishing of Cowin logo on it, consisting of 3.5mm is provided if you prefer to use it as wired or if your battery dies. The right earcup consists of cable port as well as controls. It has a button for turning volume up indicated by “+”, other buttons for turning the volume down and for skipping track indicated by “-” as well as a button to pair device shown by “o”. The variable functions depend on long presses or single press. There’s a button which can be switched and is used to turn headphone, and ANC on. The left earcup consists of charging port. The headband is adjustable, it is metallic from outside, and the inner side is plastic. It also includes thin cushions as well as smooth pads to comfort your ears. Cowin E7 Pro also supports NFC technology for quick Bluetooth pairing which wasn’t included in regular mode, Cowin E7.
The sound quality is impressive into the lows and its a surprise the way it performs during mids. Although highs might not impress everyone still headphone does an excellent job in the cheap price range. The range of connectivity is also fantastic which is considered to be around 25m if paired with a suitable device. The bass is consistent, punchy and balanced but might not be much useful in terms of sub-bass for a rumble, still performs way better than E7. The leakage is minimal as compared to many over-ear headphones, and Cowin E7 Pro performs well in terms of cutting out ambient noise. It also consists of a built-in microphone which delivers good in normal conditions but might not be very useful in noisy areas such as busy streets.
The E7 Pro’s battery is nearly 25% larger than E7’s 800mAh as well as E8’s battery which is a significant improvement. It’s considered to survive up to 30 hours, but with Active Noise Cancelling enabled all the time it might go for up to 27 hours which is pretty fair. The charge time battery needs to be fully charged from being empty is nearly 3 hours, but fantastic thing about E7 Pro is that it can be used while charging as well.

Bluedio T4 Noise Cancelling Headphone
After being in the market for a long time and launching many headsets, Bluedio presented something great with surprising features under the budget. Bluedio T4 is way better in terms of design and performance than the previous models. The headphones are durable, but latency still needs some improvement. It comes in two versions T4 & T4s.
Bluedio T4 feels really premium than previous models. The ear cups are wide and well padded, headband consists of metal frame and brushed metal finish gives it a fantastic look. The headband is flexible, and ear cups are dense. The closed design keeps the sound intact and allows minimal leakage. The build quality is even better than some of the more expensive headphones in the market such as Turtle Beach Elite 800. The T4 comes in matte black box, USB-C 3.5mm cable, carrying pouch and charging cable. The control scheme is really improved. The functions include call/music, track skipping, volume increase & decrease, dedicated buttons for the noise cancelling and talking mode. The ear cups are not fold-able but lay flat giving a bit of space. For portability, it has ear cup rotating design.
The sound quality of T4 is clean, detailed and crispy. It produces impressive treble and has pure mid-ranges as well as fantastic bass response. It gives an enjoyable experience and has minimal distortion. You might face a bit of difference at highs, but it’s not significant. In suppressing ambient noises, the noise cancelling feature works really well. You might feel the difference while ANC is enabled and prefer this mode for listening, but it makes bass less punchy. You can connect it through Bluetooth (Version 4.2) and the connectivity is really good for up to 10m. It has a microphone with excellent recording capabilities. Within the price range, the performance of Bluedio T4 is surprising.
With heavy usage, the battery can last up to 24 hours and charges pretty fast as compared to other headphones in this range. It takes up to 1-1.5 hours to fully charge. They have excellent stand by time but won’t switch off automatically. It doesn’t have any power saving mode. If the battery dies, you can use wire and can still enjoy the music.

Mpow H5 Noise Cancelling Headphone
Mpow recently launched premium looking quality headphones with some outstanding features. They do feel good within the price range, but they’re not really well designed in terms of comfortableness, well let’s look into it.
The area where Mpow H5 lacks a bit is its design for comfort level. It’s not that they are very bad or too much uncomfortable, but if you happen to have a large head, then they might feel tight. The look is premium and headphones are durable as well. The control scheme is straightforward and efficient. On left ear cup you’ll have noise cancelling controls to turn it on or off meanwhile on the right ear cup you’ll have track skipping, volume increase and decrease buttons and a multipurpose button for Bluetooth & music management. The design creates a perfect seal around your ears and minimizes the sound leakage, but it might not feel breathable due to it. They will fit on your ears comfortably and will be stable but might not withstand intense exercises. The headband is comfortable as well as well padded with metallic finishes. The ear cups are dense and well finished. In the box, you’ll get carrying case, audio cable, USB cable and airplane adapter.
The sound quality of H5 is impressive, and if I were to rate it, I would rate it 7.5 out of 10. Its base is stable, punchy, bright and amazing. The lows and mids are great with a good treble. They are great for a fan of heavy bass. It might lack a bit with sub-bass but overall is good. The active noise cancelling feature performs incredibly too. It does a great job in cutting off ambient, but I think it performs better with noise cancelling turned off. Well, it differs from person to person depending on priorities. It has an in-line microphone with proper noise handling. In the price range, it performs right.
With continuous playtime, the battery of H5 could last up to 12 hours which is a pretty decent time as it could get you through a full workday and long flights as well. Active noise cancelling might decrease the battery life, but that’s nothing to worry about as its standard. It takes up to 1.5-2 hours to fully charge. You can use it as cabled when the battery dies.
|Dimension:||7.7 x 5.9 x 3.7 in|

The headband and ear cups are very well padded and fits easily on the head. Its relatively more stable than other headphones within this range, but stability might put some extra pressure on your skull. The breathe-ability of headphones is quite good as well. The frequency response is amazing although you might feel bit of harmonic distortion. The noise cancelling feature helps you to cancel out external noises and due to tight design the sound leakage is minimal so you don’t have to worry too much about those who are sitting next to you. The wireless connectivity range for B66 is up to 33 feet which is pretty decent. The microphone performs above average in terms of recording quality and noise handling which is another positive sign.

The monoprice has dark grey color and decent look. The headband and ear cups are padded for comfy feeling. Ear cup is oval and has glossy finish with Monoprice’s branding. The headband is flexible and is comfortable as it doesn’t apply too much pressure on your head. Overall its lightweight but oval ear cup might not suit everyone. The ear cups contain only one button for noise cancelling meanwhile other controls such as call/music and volume buttons are located on the provided cable. The breath-ability of headphones is quite good. You can’t carry them in your pockets as they are not fully fold-able although the ear cups swivel and lay flat to take less space. The headband has a metal frame which strengthens overall design. In the box you’ll get Monoprice headphones along with carrying case, AAA battery, airplane adapter, 2 audio cables, internet calling adapter and manual.
The base and ranges of headphone are amazing but you might not like sound stage. The base is very good, extended and stable meanwhile the mid range is quite impressive. The frequency response is amazing and treble is good as well. The harmonic distortion is minimal but the it doesn’t have spacious sounding soundstage. The noise cancelling feature performs really well as well and cuts out significant ambient noises. Although the leakage is a bit more due to oval design of headphone. It can be used only as wired and doesn’t support Bluetooth. The microphone is impressive as well with good recording quality and noise handling.
When it comes to battery the headset is amazing. The battery can last for up to 52 hours with continuous playtime. Its really good for weekends and long flights. Unfortunately it doesn’t have any power saving features like auto-off timer or any app support which is pretty normal in price range headphones.

Panasonic RP-HC800 Headphone
When it comes to tech gadgets Panasonic covers wide range in the industry. They introduced their Noise Cancelling mid range budget model known as Panasonic RP-HC800 recently. The company has focused very much on Noise Cancelling feature meanwhile standard isn’t that good. The design is above average but some people might not prefer it because of bulky size. Still overall its fine piece in the price range with really good features.
The RP-HC800 is well designed but a bit bulky headphone. Its really great and comfortable for those with larger heads. The ear cups are flexible and cushioned for comfortable feeling. The functioning is simple and easy to use. The ear cup contains only one button for noise cancelling meanwhile other controls are in-line on the wire. Unfortunately the HC800 doesn’t support Bluetooth and can be used as wired only. The headphone isn’t fully fold-able but is bit compact-able. It comes in hard shell which is highly protective. Lightweight plastic is used which seems solid and metallic finish gives it a better look. Its a decently stable headphone but might not work for high intensity exercises. It comes in black color only. The cable is detachable and firm. With package you’ll get AAA battery, airline adapter and a cable.
The HC800 does have an amazing treble with deep base. The bass is on heavy side which is really good for some users and mid range is noticeable. It performs really great at all ranges still you might notice bit of difference. The headphones do a great job in blocking ambient noises and work really amazing with Noise Cancelling enabled but you’ll notice significant difference once you disable Noise cancelling which is not a positive sign. So you have to use them with ANC enabled for better sound quality and experience. The sound leakage is minimal but as mentioned earlier due to larger ear cups it may vary. It does have a mic which is good at noise handling as well.
The headphone supports AAA battery which can last up to 21 hours which is fair enough with continuous audio playback. Its really great for long flights. However, it doesn’t offer any battery saving feature.
|Frequency Response:||10 Hz – 25 kHz|
|Maximum Input:||50 mW|
|Cord:||1.5 m / 4.9 ft (Detachable cord)|
The Audio Technica has developed its value in mid price range market for headphones after introducing its ATH-ANC7B model which got its hype because of its Active Noise Cancelling feature. The headphones have a premium and quality look. They upgraded it in terms of comfort as well as standard. The thing you might miss or which might change your mind regarding this headphone is limited connectivity as it doesn’t support Bluetooth.
The ATH-ANC7B comes in a durable nylon hard-shell case which makes it convenient to store all headphone gears. The color scheme and materials give the build quality an edge. The headphones are comfortable and stable. The padding used for ear cups is softer and reasonably comfy. It doesn’t apply too much pressure on your skull and is suitable for large heads as well. The metallic frame of the headband is silver which resembles silver color palette and provides a better look. Although the headphones don’t have an utterly fold-able design, still the ear cups bend, and it allows the headphone to consume less space as well as makes it easy to fit in your bag. It comes with a 6.3mm plug adapter, a plane adapter, two cables, and Velcro-ed. It consists of lightweight plastic with metallic finishes which can easily handle a couple of drops. They are very stable but might not be very good while jumping or running.
The closed back on-ear headphones provide fantastic sound quality, and it enhances to an astounding level if Noise Cancelling is enabled. It performs really awesome at lows and sustains the levels at mid-range as well but might not be really great at highs. Active noise cancelling is something which makes this headphone very special as it can cancel ambient noise well, if you are in a busy office or street you will still be able to enjoy music to the fullest. You might experience a difference in sound quality when the noise cancelling is disabled. It can carry tune successfully and provides a solid bass. Meanwhile, they don’t support Bluetooth, but you can still use them with wired functionality even if the battery dies. It also has an in-line microphone which is something worth mentioning.
The headphone uses an AAA battery that can go for up to 48 hours of continuous audio playback. It’s fair enough for long flights and weekends meanwhile Active Noise Cancelling might affect it a bit but won’t make much of a difference. They can’t be used without battery and doesn’t have an auto-off timer.
|Drivers:||40 mm | Neodymium|
|Frequency Response:||10 – 25,000 Hz|
|Battery:||Up to 40 Hours, Typical (Alkaline)|
|Cable:||Detachable 1.6 m (5.2′) with 3.5 mm (1/8″) stereo|
Sony MDR-ZX110NC Headphone
In the tech department Sony has its reputation and also introduced amazing gadgets over time. Sony also introduced its headphone with model MDR-ZX110NC but its not what you can call outstanding. The build quality is not as premium as you should expect from company like Sony but keeping the price range in mind its still headphone to consider with some amazing features which I’m going to cover.
The product is average and doesn’t provide much of premium feel in terms of style. It comes in black color, although the ear cups are bit fancy which makes the design a bit better. The headphone is lightweight and headband doesn’t exert too much pressure on the skull. Although the earcups aren’t suitable for people with big heads. The functioning is limited and consists of only one noise cancelling button. The headphones are breathable which is a positive sign for sports but stability might not impress you much. The headphones are fold-able which makes carrying them easy. The cables are non-detachable which might be an issue for some people. The cups are closed meanwhile the connectivity option is wire only.
The design might not impress you very much but the sound quality certainly will which is the reason its on our list. The pair provides amazing sound quality in the price range which is surprising. The headphones have powerful, very well-balanced and deep bass even in the mid-range. The treble and rumble is quite good as well. During the highs it might not be ideal for some users but those who prefer hip-hop over classical will like it. The noise isolation feature provides better sound quality and leakage is minimal which is really good as it won’t disturb others sitting around you. Unfortunately you won’t have Bluetooth option in this headset. It doesn’t have a microphone which is something you might want to consider. The cables aren’t too problematic and are fairly long enough.
When it comes to battery they have a long battery life according to Sony can go for up to 80 hours which give them an edge. They don’t provide any power saving feature but still can go for up to a weekend’s worth of playback, meanwhile they can be used passively if the battery dies.
|Drivers:||30 mm dynamic Neodymium – Dome type|
|Impedence:||Power ON 220 ohm, OFF 45 ohm (at 1kHz) Ohms|
|Dimensions:||18.8 x 14.7 x 5.1 cm|
Koss has been around from a long time and is experienced in producing headphones but QZ-Pro wasn’t best of their’s but still included in the list due to active features and price points. Well lets see if it impresses you or not.
The QZ-Pro is a pretty decent and simple headphone. Its made of plastic and silver ear cup. The ear cup is coated with soft black padding which seems cheap tho. The headband is also padded with hinges. The headphones are better for people with smaller heads and doesn’t extend much so won’t be ideal for people with larger heads. There’s one switch to enabled or disable noise cancelling. The volume controls are on the cable which is not detachable. The headphones can be folded and are easy to carry. The headband doesn’t feel solid and is not durable as well. In the box along with headphones you’ll get airline adapter and a manual.
The headphones are not very impressive in terms of sound. The bass and mids are average with normal treble although the frequency response is very good. The harmonic distortion and soundstage is average. In terms of leakage the headphones perform really well as the sound leakage is minimal meanwhile the noise isolation feature doesn’t cut much of ambient noises. It doesn’t support Bluetooth and can be used wire only. The headphone doesn’t have microphone.
In terms of battery the headphone is good as it can last for up to 40 hours with continuous playtime but it doesn’t have any power saving feature. As its wired so you can play audio even if the battery dies.
|Frequency Response:||40Hz ~ 20KHz|
|Cable:||Straight, Single Entry, 4ft|
|Item Dimension:||3.5 x 6.5 x 9.8 in|
Its a lightweight and very slim headphone introduced by Panasonic in the price range. It has really good features but doesn’t feel premium though. Lets dive into more details.
The headphone has all black color scheme with silver of metal frame on the headband. The ear cup has glossy finish with Panasonic’s branding on them. The headphone is lightweight and doesn’t exert too much pressure on the ears, unfortunately the padding on the ear cups isn’t very good and makes the headphone uncomfortable for long sessions. The headphones are breathable. The functions are limited but provide power switch, volume control and noise cancelling options. The headphones are not stable and slip off while easily running or jumping. In the package you’ll get RP-HC101 headphone along with airplane adapter, carrying pouch, AA battery and manual.
The base and mid range is quite good although they are not really good at producing quality sound. The treble is below average meanwhile the frequency response is average. The harmonic distortion is good however soundstage isn’t quite amazing. The headphone prevents leakage to some extent but the isolation is not really good and you can’t count on it. There’s no built-in microphone in these headphones. For connectivity you’ve to use the cable as the headphones doesn’t support Bluetooth.
The battery of this headset is really amazing as it can last for up to more than 100 hours, which is really great for weekends and long flights. There’s no battery saving feature but I think you don’t need one with this much capacity.
|Frequency Response:||10 Hz – 23 kHz|
|Item Dimension:||36 x 0.7 x 0.5 in|
